Practice Synopsis

Nexus Healthcare (‘Minding Your Mind’) provides independent psychiatric assessments and treatments for clients of all background and ages, specialising in provision of linguistically and culturally matched service for Koreans, culturally appropriate service for Asian clients, and perinatal mental health issues.

 

 

We provide private specialist assessment and recommendations for the treatment of mild to moderate psychiatric disorders on a referral only basis for people in the care of family doctors or independent psychotherapist.

 

 

We are NOT an after-hours or crisis response service. 

We do NOT provide acute or intensive case-management services. 

 



Services Provided

Clinical Psychiatry Services 

 

Our psychiatrist offers a referral-only service for patients, presenting with a variety of mild to moderate mental health issues (for example; depression, mania, anxiety, phobias, PTSD, psychosis and ADHD), for specialist psychiatric assessment,

Initial Psychiatric Consultation

 

This is an evaluative interview, which takes 60-90 minutes in duration on average, but  but depending on complexity, more time may be needed in order to develop an understanding of the problems presented.

Telehealth

 

We offer tele-health appointments based on necessity and suitability. Certain assessments and treatments may only be able to be delivered through face-to-face, in-person sessions.

Psychiatrist

 

Dr Aram Kim BHB, MBChB, DCP, PGDip in CBT, MRCPsych, FRANZCP

 

I was born in Korea and immigrated to New Zealand in 1994. I completed my undergraduate medical degrees (BHB, MBChB) at University of Auckland and PGDip in CBT from Massey University. I have broad experiences from working at various centres in New Zealand and Ireland. My areas of special interests and expertise include general, peri-natal, and cross-cultural psychiatry as well as spirituality and cognitive behavioural therapy. I bring a holistic, gentle, collaborative, and comprehensive approach to the practice of psychiatry. I am a passionate advocate for mental health, and engaged in numerous volunteer activities as well as teaching (honorary academic at University of Auckland).
